Treacherous Alliance: The Secret Dealings of Israel, Iran, and the United States

I highly recommend this book by Trita Parsi.  It is thoroughly researched and contains original information and insights.  It is probably one of the most significant IR books on the ME to come in years.  However, it is marred by a political agenda; the author, who is active in an organization which works to improve relations between US and Iran, allowed his political interest to prevail: he went out of his way even when there is no evidence or even when evidence is flimsy to reassure the Israeli lobby that Iran means no ill will toward Israel.  It is for this reason that Saudi regime media and academia used and missed the book's findings.
