Savannah has of course grown in leaps & bounds this month, but more importantly, she has started to full on communicate.
She points, argues (in baby talk), giggles when we make funny faces or noises and tries repeating them back. A real little person!
Her personality is in full development too – she is a force to be reckoned with! She is extremely strong willed. She knows exactly what she wants and is pretty difficult to distract or offer other options. The word “No” is making lots of appearances around the house these days…even though she still thinks it’s part of a game most of the time.
If we shake our finger at her and say, “Savannah, no-no-no.” She just shakes her finger at us with a big goofy grin and says it back. We feel tested every step of the way. If she is about to do something naughty, she makes sure we’re watching, having already told her not to do it…then she starts doing whatever it is that we told her not to do…in slow motion. Can you imagine teenage Savannah?
She’s going to give me plenty of grey hair!
Savannah had a major milestone this month – she started nursery school! Yay!
I was pretty nervous about how she would adapt to the change in her schedule, but she’s done so well! Of course, the entire house now goes from one cold to another, but it was to be expected. She bounces back from them so much faster than the adults in the house. She goes 3 times a week and comes home with the occasional art project – which we proudly display on the fridge.
She’s also enjoyed her first football season with her daddy…well, she’s mostly enjoying all the outfits. Though pro team support is solidly behind the Houston Texans, college football is a whole other ball game (pardon the pun). She has family representing a couple of SEC schools, so we can say Savannah is currently undecided, but enjoying all the cheerleader outfits while she selects where she’ll study in 17 years.
It’s been a great (albeit busy & stressful) month. Work is keeping us on very tight schedules.
We are grateful for the exciting life we get to live in this exotic place and grateful that our baby still has a relatively normal life (well, with the exception of having a nanny).
