Five on Friday...err...Thursday

Joining the Five on Friday craze – even if Thursday is our Friday ova’ hea’ in the Middle East!

What am I excited about this Friday?

1)      Healing toe after THIS awful injury!  Note to self – just go ahead and wear steel toe shoes…all the time (I’m wearing little sandals right now.  I never learn).

  

2)      Cooler weather in Abu Dhabi! Finally!  It’s gorgeous outside!  By cooler, I mean:

 

3)      Rihanna concert at the Du Arena on Yas Island on Saturday!  In a normal, non-expat, pre-baby environment, I wouldn’t have even admitted I sing along to Rihanna in the privacy of my car (shaking my head and using my phone as a microphone).  However, as a stressed momma living in the Middle East, I get my kicks however I can – and going to a Rihanna concert, when she’s playing only about 15 minutes from our compound fits the bill!

 

4)      Shopping for Christmas picture outfits with the family.  You won’t see snow or pine trees in these parts – but By Gawd – we will have Christmas spirit!! Getting into the groove of things by having already kicked off Christmas shopping and getting proper family Christmas pictures done next weekend.  I thought coordinating my own outfit for special events was tough – now I have to coordinate all three of us!

 

5)      Soooo excited about a little booking we just made – for Savannah’s PawPaw! He’s coming to visit us all the way from Alabama!  He’ll be here for Savannah’s 1 year birthday party and through to Christmas! We’re already throwing around a few ideas of fun, albeit relaxing, activities while he’s here.  Will be a good time to knock out more touristy things we haven’t gotten around to doing…dune bashing, desert safari, dhow tour, road trip to Oman…
