First - yes, I'm late in posting this. That's OK. I have kept spending as much time with Savannah and a very demanding job in balance...for now, it's what I can handle. All else will be delayed somewhat.
Anyway, our little girl is getting very exciting! She's testing out solids this month. She's had avocado, banana and sweet potato. Next week, we try green beans and parsnip.
Also very exciting ....she's starting sippy cup training! She only sips a little at a time, but every day, she drinks a little more out of her cups. The goal is to be bottle free by one year old.
She has really come to life in the last month. She chats away all day and argues her way in between feedings and even seems to argue with the dogs when they bark while she's drinking a bottle. This little diva demands a tranquil environment while she's eating (well, except for her arguing/chatting).

Savannah is really enjoying time spent during the day with the nanny, but I'm thrilled to see she gets giggly and giddy as soon as I walk in the door from work. She also starts high-pitched screams (I mean, this girl rivals Mariah Carey's screams) and hands to mouth to tell me she's ready for her solids meal.
She still loves singing along to music and has discovered that bath time is not just a time to lay around and be washed. Since her little spoiled self still gets baths in a tub brought out to our bed, this makes for wet comforters as she splashes about in glee!

It's also been amazing to watch her finally interact with the dogs. She suddenly really became aware of them this month. She likes patting them on the head and arguing with them while sitting in her high chair during supper. They enjoy sniffing her toes and are constantly waiting for Savannah to drop a toy or a crumb of whatever she's being fed. I see the start of a beautiful friendship.
Whenever Savannah cries, Maggie (our female lab) races to stand by whoever is holding her...as if to make sure she's not being hurt in some way.
All-in-all, at 5 months, is making a real presence in our home. Her plates and cups and bottles take up cabinet space and toys and chairs are all around the house. The best part...her (LOUD) and sweet voice is constantly heard. Just puts a smile on our face!!
