Did I mention watching football here is tough? How's about, we're waking up at 4 am to catch the start of the LSU/Bama game!
SEC football Saturdays make us miss home more than most other things.
Though I know Adam was joking when he talked about our kids not being born during football season, I am pretty relieved Savannah's not expected to arrive until right before Christmas. That poor child would have to battle it out with a game in the background at all her birthday parties had she been expected before December!
Anyway, that's how we're ending our weekend, an early morning football game via our SlingBox!
The rest of the week flew by. We're finding time passing by pretty rapidly since our move here. Part of it may be that since we were moved for our jobs, we end up spending most of our time at work, talking about work or stressing about work. I had a pretty massive project wrap up this week, but that meant even longer hours at the office, including all day on Friday (equivalent of a US Saturday).
The project is done! One down, one to go. I have one more big project left to finish within two weeks, then I start to wind everything down. I'm not quite counting down to not being in the office, but I am counting down to narrowing my focus to the all important arrival of our baby. I have so many to-do-lists going at any one time, all on different subjects, so I'm always afraid I'm going to end up erroneously submitting a work presentation discussing the importance of perfume-free baby wipes!
So, because of the long work hours this week, Adam and I ended up missing all the trick-or-treaters! I was so bummed! As we drove up, our nanny was handing out treats to what ended up being the last group of kids for the evening. She said the turnout was pretty big. Our neighborhood association sent out posters we were to hang on our front patios if we welcomed trick-or-treaters. We went the extra step of setting up a couple of fake cobwebs, a plastic bat hanging sign and some old Cracker Barrel Halloween candle holders. I'm glad the neighborhood had such a great turnout, maybe next year I'll somehow make it home in time.
It was another early morning for us today as we drove to Dubai for our 33-week scan at the American Hospital. It was very exciting to see how our baby has grown! Savannah Jean is now an estimated 5 lbs, 3 oz! Even better news, she's flipped upside down and into a great position for what we're praying will turn out being a very natural delivery. Our doctor was pleased at her growth and how well she's doing, so we couldn't be happier! She was so cute during her ultrasound, turning to face us then sucking her thumb the rest of the time we viewed her.

I had to take a snapshot of him against a giant Hershey's syrup bottle. We made it out without buying any candy, but it took an internal battle! I've never been one of those gals with a thing for chocolate, but this baby's got me craving chocolate like crazy. I blame daddy's cravings being passed on to her!
All-in-all, it was a tough, but successful and happy work week & weekend.
All that's left is that early morning football game tomorrow (accompanied by a mug of chocolate milk)!
